CISS celebrated the 90th birthday of volunteer Beryl Mitchell who, for the past 10 years, has been responsible for the window displays in the Uplands shop.
Charity Manager Ian Addison said “The funds raised through our Uplands shop have become the backbone of our independent funding. Beryl transforms donated goods into eye catching window displays which has had a major impact on people coming into the shop and subsequent sales. Customers have referred to our shop as “The Harrods of the Uplands” and “The Uplands Boutique”. Like all charities we are reliant on our fantastic whose hard work and dedication have made our shops in Uplands and Neath so successful”.
The charity hosted a lunchtime celebration marking Beryl’s 90th birthday attended by the Uplands Shop volunteers. Beryl volunteers 2 days per week with an ambition to continue to support the charity for at least the next 10 years.
