Our Uplands shop has reopened!

We are delighted to announce that our Uplands store has reopened! In order to maximise the safety of our shoppers, staff and volunteers, donations will now be made by appointment only. Also hand sanitisation stations are in place and we ask you that you sanitise your hands on entering the store. In order to maintain a 2 metre distance in the shop a maximum of 4 shoppers are permitted at any one time. Please ring us on 464621 and we will arrange a convenient time for you to drop off your donations. Many thanks for your support, and we look forward to seeing you again shortly!

Covid-19 update

Please note that our charity shops in Uplands, Swansea and Neath will not be opening today (Mon 22 June). We are in the process of carrying out preparation work to ensure that they meet government Covid guidelines and to ensure they will be a safe environment for our shoppers, staff and volunteers.
We will update our social media and website when we have further news for you.

We continue to support our clients by telephone and on line counselling, which is proving invaluable during these difficult times. Referrals have been taken for our support all the way through lockdown, and continue to do so.
Thank you for your support.

Coronavirus

Due to the current coronavirus situation we have closed both our shops and Swansea centre until further notice. This is to ensure the safety of our staff, volunteers, clients and supporters. If you wish to access support please contact us on us on our normal helplines, 01792 655025 or 01639 642333. In order to comply with current government restrictions we are now supporting our clients by way of telephone counselling rather then face to face, which is proving to be popular and effective at this difficult time. Thank you for your understanding and co-operation while we ride this storm.

Telephone Support

Due to the Coronavirus situation CISS is now offering an alternative option to provide support via telephone. Your counsellor will contact you ahead of your planned meeting to discuss the best option for you. Thank you for your co-operation during this difficult time.

Coronavirus

We are unable to accept any donations into our shops until further notice due to the current Coronavirus outbreak.

Please accept our apologies for this and thank you for your understanding and co-operation at this difficult time.

Birthday Celebration

CISS celebrated the 90th birthday of volunteer Beryl Mitchell who, for the past 10 years, has been responsible for the window displays in the Uplands shop.

Charity Manager Ian Addison said “The funds raised through our Uplands shop have become the backbone of our independent funding. Beryl transforms donated goods into eye catching window displays which has had a major impact on people coming into the shop and subsequent sales. Customers have referred to our shop as “The Harrods of the Uplands” and “The Uplands Boutique”. Like all charities we are reliant on our fantastic whose hard work and dedication have made our shops in Uplands and Neath so successful”.

The charity hosted a lunchtime celebration marking Beryl’s 90th birthday attended by the Uplands Shop volunteers. Beryl volunteers 2 days per week with an ambition to continue to support the charity for at least the next 10 years.
